Sometimes, a girl and a guy need a little pampering on Valentine’s Day — and both the bride and groom set out to get just that as seen on their February 14 wedding-day pictures from Stephen DeVries. The bride’s all smiles under the hair dryer, while the groom relaxes and gets a nice steam treatment and a shave, on the way to getting ready for the big day. (He’s just glad he doesn’t have to fuss with makeup!) The flowers are prepared ¬— a string of simple red rose boutonnieres waits at the church — and the rings are shining and ready. The groom’s elegant in black tie — he’ll no doubt leave the pith helmet off for the ceremony! — while the maids, in chic red dresses, vamp in front of the camera just for fun.
After a ceremony in an elegant nave, the couple climbs into transport for the reception; the drink of choice when they arrive? Ale with their names on it — and a quote from Mark Twain on its label. The wedding cake is a stunning seven layers, decorated with roses, and the band plays everyone’s favorite tunes for dancing fun. The groom partners with young and old alike — grandparents and flower girls — while the bride favors each of the men in the party with a quick twirl around the floor. After one last dance, the guests send the couple off in a shower of confetti that goes everywhere, even following the newlyweds out the door and covering the hood of their “getaway car.” Fortunately…they don’t mind a bit!
