Three-Story Chalet Black Pearl by Philippe Capezzone

Chalet Black Pearl by Philippe Capezzone 01

The Black Pearl Chalet — designed and built by Philippe Capezzone, owner and architect of the 5-star Hotel Kilimandjaro in Courchvele 1850 — is a three-story dwelling located between the village of Val d’Isére and the funicular at La Daille. In a mix of contemporary design with traditional Savoyard stone and warm wood, it presents the discriminating traveler with a holiday spot both sophisticated and whimsical. Enter the chalet and a floor-to-ceiling stone fireplace beckons; snuggle in front of it on a smoky-blue upholstered couch with fluffy white fur pillows that echo the looks of the miniature polar bear on the coffee table. Entertain a crowd at the spacious gray dining table and chairs — with the aid of the modern kitchen, just steps away — while your favorite tunes play from the iPod dock.

No matter what your holiday plans, you’ll never be bored at Chalet Black Pearl. Take a dip in the indoor swimming pool, enjoy a movie with the home cinema projector screen, or play a game on the PlayStation 3. In warm weather, enjoy the sun terrace; in snowy weather, take advantage of the ski room’s boot warmers and custom in-house fitting service, and hit the slopes courtesy of the chauffeured 4×4 that takes you to the lifts in minutes. Best of all, you can enjoy all this with plenty of company: the chalet boasts 5 twin/double bedrooms, all with ensuite bathrooms for maximum privacy and pampering. In fitting with its name, Chalet Black Pearl’s palette is gentle shades of charcoal balanced with gray and white, bathed with natural light from abundant windows. Day or night, Black Pearl is a treasure, an escape, and a haven…for the ultimate in luxury and comfort.
