Wow! This is a cat you sure don’t want to mess with. Well that certainly is the impression you are left with the first time you see him. Meet Garfi, a Persian cat who lives in Turkey with his owner, Hulya Ozkok, her family and an assortment of other cats. It is undeniable though – Garfi does indeed bear a remarkable resemblance to a character cat with an attitude problem, Garfield. However they say you should never judge a book by its cover, so perhaps there should also be a phrase which says ‘Never judge a cat by its expression’. From what we can gather, Garfi is the complete antithesis of his expression and is a very warm and loving cat. Fortunately cats are not as dangerous as dogs, so we like to think that Garfi’s look is more unsettling than frightening!
But what must Garfi’s owners do whenever they have guests who come round to their home? Do they apologize for the stare Garfi gives them, or do they explain straight away that Garfi isn’t angry, he just looks that way? I bet they have lots of fun winding people up with tales of what Garfi has done when let loose on suspecting visitors. And as for what it is that Makes Garfi look so angry, well it is difficult to tell exactly what creates the look, but whatever it is, it certainly works! After this worldwide coverage we also wonder if Hulya Ozkok will be inundated with film and stage offers, well advertising endorsements anyway. It would be curious to discover another time if Garfi ever sired a litter of kittens whether they all turned out looking as angry as he does! [Image Credits: Getty Images and Bored Panda]
