Spring’s a great time for a wedding, as you can see from these images from an April wedding in Alabama, courtesy of Stephen DeVries. The subtitle for this might be “a day at the shore” — complete with lighthouse. The bride appears first in a light-blue sequined and beaded top and white skirt, poses for some pictures with her blue-clad groom — and some purely-fun shots with maids in all variegated gowns — and then disappears again to be fully bedecked in layers of white lace for the church ceremony. Her father makes a dashing escort for this radiant bride, and the ceremony is full of smiles. After their procession down the aisle as husband and wife, the happy couple leads the way to a “barn” reception.
But what a barn! Yes, beamed ceilings and walls give it a rustic look…but the chandeliers hanging above, scattering beams of light, are no ordinary “lanterns.” Guests are in for a “sweet” time: from pecan pie to cookies to layer cake and cheesecakes — not to mention wedding cake! — there’s something for every taste. Once again, our bride is in her blue-and-white gown, ready to dance the night away. The evening is filled with music, sparkling toasts, and times to treasure with family and friends…and confetti, a playful element that everyone enjoys to the hilt. All too soon, it’s time to say their goodbyes; the groom tosses a garter, the bride a bouquet (but keeps a “going away” bunch for herself!), and they’re riding away in a pink limousine…to a future as bright as the sparklers with which the guests see them off.
