In the midst of the Blue Ridge Mountains outside Charlottesville, VA, is Panorama Farms, a natural backdrop for special occasions of every kind. Feast your eyes on these images from one such event, a Panorama Farms wedding, as presented by Jodi Miller Photography. As breathtaking as it is, however, the natural scenery around this event is only part of the story. The rest is the fun, quirky, and creative approach of the couple. Strings of flags decorate the invitations, their multicolored banners a hint of the bold, bright colors that will fill the day. See those bright pink and orange bridesmaids’ dresses hung neatly beside the wedding gown? The bride’s shoes are even lined in pink — and shiny as any girl’s shoes should be for a special occasion — with that color echoed in the bouquets.
In contrast, the bride’s raiment is utter simplicity, a sleeveless white gown with openwork lace bodice and a chic hair bow with netting, reminiscent of what might have been her grandmother’s pillbox hat. The groom, of course, doesn’t don pink or orange — unless you count the splashy plaid tie! Against his sober blue-gray suiting, the bride’s radiance shines all the more brightly. But the biggest smiles of the day come when they pose with one of the honored “guests” for the wedding: a pup, outfitted in style in a suitable bow tie. Guests get in on the fun with goodie bags emblazoned with “Charlottesville” hearts — and filled with such treats as sweet potato chips and, of course, a “Virginia is for Lovers” bumper sticker. It’s a day for whimsy, in a setting touched by sunlight — a wedding to remember.
