On a dizzyingly high heel and a quick step, this bride waltzes into her Alabama fall wedding day in style, in these pictures from Stephen DeVries. Naturally, the bride begins with a hair and makeup session, watched over by her faithful (and well-coiffed) dog; delicate details like teardrop earrings and a net-covered hat box make the day seem extra elegant. Her maids are in delectable fall gowns of blue, purple, and mellow red, while the bouquets echo the bright colors of November and trail graceful ivies and greens. Her groom looks like the man of the hour in black suiting and a whimsical blue print bow tie (his men wear bow ties in black), and he’s a sight to behold when his bride surprises him in the church aisle for their “reveal.”
With bright sunlight overhead and a quick pause for a prayer, the two are wed in a gorgeous church wrapped in garlands and flowers, and then it’s just a few steps to the reception. Tiny white votives light the treat tables, while a magnificent white cake is topped with pomegranate and cherry ornaments. After a sumptuous feast in a chandeliered ballroom, the dancing begins, with warm moments between the groom and his mom as well as the bride and her dad. Then all the guests get in on the fun, young and old, cutting a fine figure on the dance floor. After a rollicking toss of bouquet and garter, it’s time to send the newlyweds on their way through a shower of rose petals to the back of a stretch convertible. A good time is had by all on a beautiful fall wedding day…as captured by Stephen DeVries.
