When you see cakes like these, only then do you realise just how few opportunities there are to enjoy such culinary delights. Actually, when we look at many of these cakes, it isn’t just about the baking. And so when is a good time to create one, or order one from your local cake store? Well we reckon that keeping these just for children’s birthdays would be a shame. Are they really only for children, or can anyone with an inner child have one too? Why can’t the cakes be for anniversaries, or maybe a graduation cake with Mickey Mouse wearing a mortar board? How about a Mickey and Minnie Mouse engagement cake, or even wedding cake? Wow! Imagine the look on guests’ faces when you reveal something totally different to a triple-tiered white frosted cake. And what about the size? There is no reason why any Disney cake can’t be as small or as big as you want. Examples here run from single- to four-tired examples. Did you notice though – there were even some Disney cupcakes in the background of one cake….the ideal cake for one!
But back to this wonderful and imaginative array of designs. It seems that without doubt Mickey and Minnie Mouse are still all-round favourite Disney characters. We love the variety of styles and ideas behind all the cakes relating to them – we thought the birthday cakes for Brayden and Kaylanis particularly special. We were also struck at the accuracy of a few other cakes, including Mozay’s Rapunzel cake and the incredible amount of work which went into Le Torte di Renato’s Snow White tiered cake. I couldn’t bring myself to eat any of the characters or animals though! It is especially hard to believe that the birthday cake for Mom and Auntie is actually real it is so perfect. What we do reckon though is that because the character is Mrs Potts from Beauty and the Beast, Mom and Auntie both enjoy a good cup of tea!
