Colorful Ukraine Terrace Apartment with a View 01

From its terrace high above the city of Kiev, this apartment gives you a feeling of space — both inside and out — and of color, thanks to ID4U Design from Ukraine. The terrace itself is an ample extra outdoor “room” with multiple uses: a wicker table and chairs stand ready for alfresco feasts, sheltered beneath an awning; the remainder of the furniture on the terrace is the same wicker — couches, chairs, and a table with a glass top invite lingering over a glass of wine in the evening or that first cup of coffee in the morning. Sliding doors lead into a living/dining combination with elegant deep taupe walls and a shelving divider that separates the “rooms” nicely without being cumbersome or cutting off light and air. The dining area, in turn, segues into the streamlined kitchen, allowing the cook to prepare meals without being isolated from guests.

Colors are neutral overall, but with splashy accents: bright yellow on the terrace; multicolored butterfly wallpaper in one bedroom and poppy-red on the wall of one bath; and, of course, the geometric print on chair, ottoman, and pillows that makes them all looked wrapped in special gift paper. A broad neutral stripe livens up a dressing room, while a “tapestry” feel to the paper in the master bedroom is soothing and relaxing. In the hallway, colorful contemporary art hangs on walls and casually sets on the floor — as if being readied for its place in the “gallery.” Finally, in addition to floor-to-ceiling sliding doors, long curtains hang at the ready to separate areas, if needed, for privacy or a cozier “feel.” More spacious than it appears: that’s this colorful apartment by ID4U.
