The Burberry Prorsum Spring 2014 RTW Collection was quite the surprise, especially when looking at the collections of the past few years. This collection is soft, feminine, and lady-like when compared to the collections of the past. While the other collections have a “look at me” factor, this collection says I am beautiful and I love beautiful clothes. The “full metal jacket” and leather overload look of the past has been softened down to a minimal. The large, embellished gems are still a find in this year’s ready to wear collection. “I wanted it to be very gentle, very tender,” Bailey said after the show, citing a quest for “softness” as the starting point.
The collection glories in pastel colors and black and white contrast. The mismatch prints of the collection are stunning, the bold blend of polka dots and stripes are extravagantly haute. Pencil skirts are available in a variety of colors and styles from lace, solids, and prints. The chic pencil skirt beachwear in lace with high waist bottoms is exceptional. The contrast of the black and white in polka dots and stripes is ready for spring break and the boardwalk. Top the look off with a fabulous straw beach hat and you are ready to go. Just in case you wanted to begin wearing the line this winter, the collection includes an assortment of coats that you will love. The Burberry Prorsum Spring 2014 RTW Collection is delightfully refreshing and beautiful.
