Whether you love to cook or are happy to leave that chore to someone else, these fabulous kitchens — the top kitchens from Stylish Eve’s décor files this year — may just inspire you: either you won’t be able to get at them and start cooking…or maybe, just maybe, you’ll reconsider the decision to go out to eat so much! Today’s kitchens can give you everything from a kitchen-laundry-office combination to a granite-topped center island with handy wine storage, plus a whole lot more. Have ceramic tile backsplashes in almost any color of the rainbow; if your decorating tastes are neutral, choose a sand-and-white pattern, or go all out with vibrant colors for a warm desert dwelling. Many folks love pure white — or pure black — in their kitchens; sleek modern looks feature dark wood grain, recessed track lighting, and horizontal blinds in contrast or harmony.
Wood grain, of course, is a natural for kitchen décor: match it with stainless steel, built-ins, and clean white walls and you’ve got a textbook “contemporary” palette. Don’t be afraid of color, either: even in an all-white or cream kitchen, bring red, green, blue, or bright yellow mixing bowls, dishes, or small appliances into the space and it pops with cheer. A particularly strong color that would be too much on all the walls can be used as an accent above or below cabinets; you can even bring in bright pieces of your art collection to spice up your kitchen walls. Have a mural painted above your sink or stove, install an “industrial”-look vent hood or one with a ceramic or wood finish. So many good ideas…so little time! Take a look at these, and enjoy the best of the best.
