It’s hard to say what’s more beautiful: the view out the cabana windows (two levels’ worth), on this house, toward the dock — or the view of the house itself, as you disembark. Whichever way you look, Harbor Point, by the Miami concern of B. Pila Design Studio, might just steal your breath away. Step through the arched entryway into the hall and you’re surrounded by bright splashes of poppy-pink, a stairway heading up, and gorgeous woodwork on the other side. Savor art displayed in the atrium — and deliberately placed at floor level. As the designers say, “Don’t get too hung up on traditional wall art. Sometimes objects placed against a wall add a dramatic flair” — and it’s true. But drama isn’t the main message of this house, either; it’s a perfect haven for entertaining of all kinds, from swim parties to al fresco dinners.
An open floor plan makes this happen, with numerous places to snuggle up and dream. From lavish sectional sofas in the living room, to the “tree house” feel of the upper-level cabana…from the sleek soaking tub in the bathroom, to the curved lounges poolside…Harbor Point invites you to put your feet up. In the pool, turquoise tiles mimic the blue of the sea, with which it blends magically at its “infinity” edge. Have a snack and a chat in the gazebo, or savor ocean breezes from a spot on one of the balconies. Cooking fans will adore the center kitchen island up-lit with spots from below — not to mention the clean-lined layout with abundant cabinet and counter space. And when it’s time to retire, roomy bedrooms in pastel colors beckon — all with their own starlit views. Harbor Point, in a word, is exquisite — a Florida jewel from B. Pila Design Studio.
